After Reid’s passing, his parents Glenn and Mary, along with their daughter Erin, spent a year in mourning before deciding to channel their grief into action. In 2022, they established the Reid Wiley Charitable Foundation to keep their son’s name alive and ensure no other family has to experience the tragedy of losing a loved one to asthma.

Wiley Asthma Program
In partnership with the American Lung Association and Akron Children’s Hospital, we provide schools with asthma education, training for nurses, and access to emergency Albuterol Inhalers and supplies—ensuring no child suffers because help wasn’t available.

Hockey Scholarships
Honoring Reid’s passion for hockey, we fund scholarships for young players who demonstrate hard work, loyalty, and a “team over self” mentality—the values Reid lived by every day on the ice.

Reid was one of the most genuine, kind, caring, and selfless people you could ever meet. He approached life with a passionate, fiery energy that was larger than life itself. As a hockey player, he wore #22 and gave everything he had for his teammates. As a friend, he was always there when you needed him.
